Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, popularly known as Wolekanle, as his new Chief of Staff.

The governor also appointed Mrs Aderonke Adedayo as Director-General of the Oyo State Due Process Office, with both appointments taking immediate effect.

The appointments were communicated through separate letters signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde.

Akinwole, a grassroots politician, previously served as Chairman of the Oyo State Local Government Service Commission before he was appointed Chief of Staff.

His new position places him in a central administrative role within the governor’s office, where he is expected to support the coordination of government activities and the implementation of the administration’s priorities.

Adedayo, who currently serves as Special Adviser on General Intervention and Donor Agencies, will retain that position while assuming additional responsibilities as Director-General of the Due Process Office.

The office plays a role in promoting transparency, accountability and compliance with established procedures in government procurement and related administrative processes.

Makinde congratulated both appointees and urged them to approach their new responsibilities with professionalism and dedication.

He charged them to discharge their duties with “loyalty, commitment, and dedication to the service of Oyo State.”

The governor also expressed confidence in their capacity to contribute to effective governance and the implementation of his administration’s development programmes.

The appointments form part of the administration’s ongoing personnel decisions aimed at strengthening coordination and service delivery across government institutions.
