The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has expressed grief over the deaths recorded in Monday’s Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the NGF Director of Media and Strategic Communications, Yunusa Tanko Abdullahi, the 36 state governors extended condolences to the families, colleagues and loved ones of the military personnel and other passengers who died in the incident.
The governors also sympathised with the leadership of the Nigerian Air Force and the wider Armed Forces of Nigeria over the tragedy.
The NGF Chairman, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, commended the fallen personnel for their service and sacrifice to the nation, saying their commitment to national security would not be forgotten.
The Forum prayed for strength and comfort for the bereaved families, while also asking for fortitude for the nation as it mourns the victims.
