Former Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has revealed plans to establish a new independent Hisbah agency, aimed at reintegrating about 12,000 dismissed officers back into religious and moral duties across the state.

Ganduje made the announcement while receiving the report of a committee he set up to review the situation of the affected personnel. The committee was chaired by former Kano Hisbah Commander, Dr. Harun Muhammad Ibn Sina, and included ex-KAROTA head, Hon. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi, alongside other senior clerics.

The dismissed officers include those who previously worked in anti-immorality operations, volunteers, and advisers. The committee’s report provides detailed recommendations on how to restore their roles and ensure a stable and sustainable future for them within the state’s moral and religious framework.

Ganduje emphasized that the new agency would create opportunities for the officers to continue serving the community while strengthening the state’s commitment to religious and moral standards.
