Nigerian singer Teni Apata has stirred reactions online after publicly challenging fellow music star Tiwa Savage to a fight, with Tiwa responding by asking her to choose a date.
Teni made the remarks in a video shared on her Instagram page while discussing the earnings of Nigerian entertainers and the expensive lifestyles associated with some leading artistes.
During the video, the singer jokingly directed her attention to Tiwa, declaring that she was ready to face her.
“Let’s fight, Tiwa Savage and me next. I’ll beat you enter bush,” Teni said, before continuing the playful challenge.
She also referenced Tiwa’s son, Jamal, while boasting about how she believed the encounter would unfold.
Teni subsequently shifted the conversation to money in the entertainment industry, questioning how some male artistes are able to purchase expensive cars and maintain luxurious lifestyles.
She suggested that sufficiently large performance or appearance fees could explain some of those purchases.
The singer later returned to her challenge to Tiwa, adding that she would eventually apologise after the encounter.
Tiwa responded briefly to the video, writing: “Pick a date.”
The exchange has since attracted attention from fans, with the tone of the interaction suggesting playful banter between the two entertainers rather than confirmation of an organised fight.
The development comes amid growing interest in celebrity boxing and entertainment matches involving Nigerian personalities.
