At least eight Palestinians, including a journalist, were reportedly killed in separate Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, according to Palestinian officials and medical sources.

Palestinian journalist Muhammad Abdel Aziz al-Najjar was among those killed, Gaza’s Government Media Office said.

The office identified al-Najjar as the 263rd Palestinian journalist killed since the war began in October 2023.

Details surrounding his death were not immediately clear, and the figure provided by the media office could not be independently verified.

In a separate attack, six Palestinians were killed when an Israeli drone struck a passenger vehicle in Tal al-Hawa, southwest Gaza City, according to witnesses and medical sources.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society said its ambulance crews transported 13 wounded people to al-Quds Hospital following the strike, with medical sources reporting that some of the injuries were critical.

Another Palestinian was reportedly killed when an Israeli strike hit a residential apartment near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.

Additional casualties were reported elsewhere in the territory.

Four Palestinians, including two children, were reportedly wounded in a drone attack on a shelter housing displaced people in southern Gaza, while two others were seriously wounded southeast of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza.

Israeli tank fire was also reported in parts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.

Gaza’s Ministry of Health said nine bodies were brought to hospitals across the territory during the preceding 24 hours.

According to the ministry, eight people were killed during that period, while another woman died from injuries sustained earlier.

The ministry also said at least 1,431 Palestinians had been killed and 5,026 wounded since the ceasefire took effect in October 2025. The figures could not be independently verified.

The latest attacks come amid continuing concerns over Gaza’s humanitarian situation and the condition of essential infrastructure after nearly three years of conflict.

A United Nations satellite assessment found that about 82 per cent of structures across Gaza had sustained damage as of June 16, 2026.

The assessment identified 201,290 affected structures, including more than 134,000 assessed as destroyed.

Gaza health authorities say more than 74,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 175,000 wounded since the conflict began in October 2023.

Israel has disputed various casualty figures reported by Palestinian authorities and maintains that its military operations are directed against Hamas and other armed groups.
