Nigerian referee Kasimu Abdulsalam has been selected to officiate at the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup scheduled to take place in Qatar.
Abdulsalam is among 81 match officials selected for the tournament and one of four centre referees from Africa appointed by FIFA.
Eight assistant referees from the continent have also been selected for the competition.
The appointment adds another international assignment to Abdulsalam’s refereeing career after he officiated at the 2023 and 2026 editions of the Africa U-17 Cup of Nations.
His selection places him among the African officials who will oversee matches at the global youth football tournament.
Qatar is scheduled to host the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup from November 19 to December 13.
