Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan has ended her 2026 athletics season with a second-place finish in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Athlos meeting in London.
Amusan clocked 12.51 seconds at the StoneX Stadium in Barnet on Friday, finishing just 0.01 seconds behind American Alaysha Johnson, who won the race in 12.50 seconds.
The Nigerian earned $35,000 for her second-place finish.
Commonwealth Games champion Devynne Charlton of the Bahamas finished third in 12.63 seconds, the same time recorded by Jamaica’s Danielle Williams, who placed fourth.
Jamaica’s Megan Simmonds finished fifth in 12.66 seconds, while American Rayniah Jones completed the field in 12.83 seconds.

The result brought Amusan’s 2026 campaign to a close after another season competing among the world’s leading sprint hurdlers.
Earlier, Amusan finished second at the World Athletics Ultimate Championship in Budapest, running 12.34 seconds behind American Masai Russell’s 12.22 seconds and earning $75,000.
The season also saw Amusan’s four-year world record surpassed. Russell clocked 12.09 seconds in Zurich, improving on the 12.12-second mark Amusan established at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene.

Despite losing the world record, Amusan remained among the leading performers in the women’s 100m hurdles throughout the 2026 season, ending her campaign with another podium finish in London.
