Iran has established an economic war task force to address financial and monetary challenges arising from the ongoing conflict, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

The initiative was announced by Deputy Economy Minister Morteza Zamanian, who said the task force would work to quickly identify and resolve difficulties affecting businesses and other areas of the economy.

Zamanian said the ministry would focus on challenges involving trade, financing and monetary affairs as the country grapples with the economic impact of the conflict.

Iran’s economy has faced prolonged pressure from years of international sanctions, with the latest conflict adding to existing financial difficulties.

The United States also imposed fresh sanctions on Iran earlier in the week as part of efforts to increase economic pressure on Tehran and further restrict its access to international markets.
