At least four people, including children, have been killed and several others injured in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian health officials.

A drone strike in the al-Kateeba district, west of Gaza City, killed at least three people, including two children, and wounded eight others, a medical source at al-Shifa Hospital told Al Jazeera.

Footage shared online showed smoke rising from the area following the attack, with residents reporting multiple explosions.

Reporting from Gaza City, Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud said several drones were operating in the area during the attack, describing a period of sustained aerial strikes.

A separate Israeli strike in Deir el-Balah, central Gaza, killed at least one person, according to the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

The Israeli military confirmed that it carried out strikes in Gaza, saying the operations targeted locations it described as threats to its forces.

Local Palestinian media reported that missiles and quadcopter drones were used during the attacks, while explosions were heard across parts of the Gaza Strip.

The latest strikes come amid continued violence in the territory following a ceasefire agreement that took effect in October 2025. Palestinian officials say more than 1,300 people have been killed and thousands injured since the ceasefire began.
