A California farmhouse once owned by legendary country music singer Dolly Parton has been placed on the real estate market for $1.995 million, drawing attention following the death of the music icon.
The property, a 1920s farmhouse located in Solvang, a Danish-inspired community about 130 miles north of Los Angeles, was owned by Parton between 2004 and 2014.
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom home served as a private retreat where the singer reportedly spent some weekends away from public attention. The property also includes two separate accessory units and features a stained-glass window above the entrance displaying Parton’s name alongside her famous butterfly symbol.
Solvang officials acknowledged Parton’s connection to the community, describing the late singer’s time there as part of the town’s history.
“For many years, Dolly quietly maintained a home here in Solvang, making our community a small part of her remarkable life,” the city said in a statement.
The town, known as the “Danish capital of America,” is recognised for its traditional architecture, windmills and pastry shops.
Parton, who died at the age of 80 after an illness, remained one of the most influential figures in country music, with a career spanning decades as a singer, songwriter, actress and philanthropist.
The listing of the California property has renewed public interest in the singer’s personal life and the places connected to her legacy.
