Spanish champions Barcelona are close to completing the signing of Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus in a deal reportedly worth £8.6 million (10 million euros), with the transfer expected to be concluded before the close of the summer transfer window.
The Brazil international is understood to have reached an advanced stage in negotiations with Barcelona, with only final details remaining before the move is officially completed.

The 29-year-old striker is expected to travel for a medical examination on Monday ahead of the proposed switch to the Spanish club. Italian side Napoli had also shown interest in signing the forward, but Barcelona are now considered favourites to secure his services.
Gabriel Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022 and made 123 appearances for the North London club, scoring 32 goals and providing 22 assists across all competitions.
The striker was not included in Arsenal’s squad for their Premier League opening match against Coventry, with manager Mikel Arteta confirming earlier in the week that Jesus had not been training with the team.

When asked whether the absence indicated that the player was preparing to leave the club, Arteta said the situation involved “personal situations” but did not provide further details.
Jesus’ potential departure comes as Barcelona continue to strengthen their squad after winning the Spanish league title last season, while Arsenal look set to make changes to their attacking options ahead of the new campaign.
The completion of the deal will depend on the final agreement between all parties and the successful completion of the medical process.
