The Presidential Committee on Training Reform has commenced a nationwide effort to overhaul and reposition the training institutions of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen national security capacity.
According to information posted on the official Facebook page of the NSCDC, the committee recently visited the NSCDC Academy to inspect existing infrastructure, evaluate operational gaps, and recommend strategic improvements that would enhance the Corps’ training and performance standards.

Among the high-powered delegation were the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule; the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Dauda Lawal; and the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, alongside other notable members of the Presidential Committee.
The move aligns with the vision of the Commandant General of the Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, who has continued to emphasize capacity building, professionalism, and effective service delivery as pillars of institutional growth.
Observers note that this renewed focus on training reform signals a major step toward repositioning the NSCDC for modern security challenges; a move that could redefine the Corps’ operational excellence across Nigeria
