Imo State Governor and Chairman of the All Progressives Congress Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma, has urged Osun voters to shun violence and intimidation ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
Uzodinma appealed on Thursday at the APC mega rally in Osun, where he canvassed support for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, popularly known as AMBO.
The governor said the APC was committed to a peaceful election and warned voters against participating in activities that could disrupt the electoral process.
He urged residents to turn out in large numbers to vote for Oyebamiji and his running mate, arguing that an APC victory would bring Osun closer to the Federal Government and other APC-controlled states.
Uzodinma also appealed to supporters of all political parties to protect the democratic process by avoiding violence and intimidation.
He further urged voters to support President Bola Tinubu, describing an APC victory in Osun as part of efforts to advance the administration’s development agenda.
“No violence, no intimidation, we must protect our democracy,” Uzodinma said.
He added that voting for the APC on Saturday would amount to voting for what he described as a “new Nigeria.”
