The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Auwal Musa Mohammed, as the new Commandant of the Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, and deployed eight Commissioners of Police to various state commands.
The Commission said the postings were approved to fill vacancies created by recent promotions and to strengthen operational effectiveness across the affected commands.
AIG Mohammed, who has over 33 years of policing experience, has served in operations, investigations, intelligence-led policing and police training. He previously held positions as Commandant of the Police College, Maiduguri, Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Zones 3 and 6. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Bayero University and is a member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
The newly deployed Commissioners of Police are Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo to Abia State, Ayodeji Faniyan to Plateau State, Saka Adewale Ajao to Bayelsa State, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue to Cross River State, Nnanna Oji Ama to Anambra State, Patrick Daaor to Edo State, Tijani Murtala to Jigawa State and Samuel Erale Etaifo to Delta State.
Speaking during the Commission’s meeting, Board Member and Honourable Commissioner I, Justice Paul Adamu Galumje (Rtd.), who presided over the session, charged the senior police officers to remain neutral, uphold the rule of law and discharge their responsibilities with diligence and professionalism.
