Nigeria’s representatives in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup have discovered their first-round opponents following Thursday’s preliminary round draw.
Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) have been paired with Tunisian side CS Sfaxien in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the opening round.
The Ibadan-based club, managed by Nurudeen Aweroro, will host the first leg at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne before travelling to Tunisia for the return leg in Sfax.

Should Shooting Stars progress, they will face either AF Amadou Diallo of Côte d’Ivoire or Sierra Leone’s East End Lions in the second preliminary round.
Nigeria’s second representative, El-Kanemi Warriors, have been drawn against Guinea-Bissau’s União Desportiva Internacional (UDIB).
A victory over the Guinea-Bissau outfit would earn the Maiduguri-based club a challenging second preliminary round clash against Moroccan powerhouse Raja Casablanca, one of the eight teams that received a bye into the second round of the competition.
The first-leg matches of the preliminary round are scheduled to take place between September 4 and 6, while the return fixtures will be played between September 11 and 13.
Both Nigerian clubs will be aiming to successfully navigate the preliminary stages and secure places in the group phase of Africa’s second-tier inter-club competition.
