Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Udeme Otong, has hosted several political groups and associations at his residence in Abak Itenge, Abak Local Government Area, where they pledged support for his 2027 re-election bid.
The meeting, held on Saturday, brought together members of the Association of Former Elected Councillors (AFECO), Destiny with Vision Support Group, Abak Urban Ward 2, and Abak Youths.
In their separate remarks, leaders of the groups congratulated Otong on emerging as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Abak State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
They also pledged their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and the APC, promising to mobilise voters in support of the party and its candidates.
Responding, the Speaker thanked the groups for their solidarity and confidence in his leadership, urging them to remain committed, united and sincere in their mobilisation efforts ahead of the elections.
Otong assured them of continued collaboration and effective representation, saying he would sustain efforts to attract more democratic dividends and development projects to Abak State Constituency.
The Speaker was accompanied by the Director-General of Campaigns, Amazing Grace, Rt. Hon. Ekerette Inyang; Commissioner representing the South-South Development Commission, Hon. Nkereuwem Ebong; Hon. Uwem Udoma, PhD; former Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Comrade Ubong Udofia; the Deputy Director of Campaigns, Amazing Grace, and other political associates.
