Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has announced the release of a new single titled I Know Who I Be, scheduled to drop on June 26, 2026.
The award-winning singer announced via his X account on Monday, unveiling promotional materials for the forthcoming track and describing it as the beginning of a new musical journey.
According to Davido, the song features Jazzwrld and GL_Ceejay, adding that “the journey to the throne begins” ahead of the release.
The upcoming single marks Davido’s return with fresh solo music following a period of limited releases. Before the announcement, his last solo project was Be There Still, released in March 2025, while his most recent appearance was as a featured artiste on Nakupenda by TxC.
The announcement has generated excitement among fans, especially after the singer revealed in May that he intended to take a temporary break from recording music.
Davido, whose real name is David Adeleke, rose to prominence in 2012 with the hit single Dami Duro and has since become one of Africa’s most influential music exports. He is also the founder of DMW Records, a label that has nurtured several successful artistes.
The new release comes shortly after the Afrobeats star performed at the opening concert of the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown series in Los Angeles, further strengthening his global profile.
