Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over what she described as a poor and insensitive response to the country’s worsening insecurity.
The actress said the government’s handling of rising violent crimes reflects a “lack of humanity,” arguing that the problem is not only insecurity itself but also what she called an inadequate and indifferent approach to addressing it.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Jegede expressed frustration over the situation and accused authorities of failing to adequately protect citizens.
According to her, Nigerians should not be treated as though their lives are expendable, adding that the recurring incidents of violence across the country require urgent and sincere intervention.
“Nigeria government lacks a sense of humanity,” she wrote.
She further referenced President Bola Tinubu and First Lady Remi Tinubu in her post, urging leaders to take greater responsibility for the safety of citizens.
“Nigerians are not doormats nor people you just prey on,” she said. “Crimes happen everywhere in the world, but the issue is that Nigerians know no one will come looking for them.”

Jegede also noted that the violence affecting the country cuts across tribal, religious, and social lines, suggesting that insecurity remains a nationwide issue rather than a sectional one.
“These atrocities have not been tribal, religious nor class-based,” she added.
