A fresh Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon has left several people injured, raising concerns over the durability of a newly announced ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.

The attack targeted a vehicle shortly after officials from both countries concluded a series of discussions in Washington, D.C., aimed at ending months of hostilities along the border.

The latest violence came amid heightened tensions in the region. Before the ceasefire announcement, Hezbollah claimed responsibility for launching multiple rocket attacks against Israeli military positions in southern Lebanon. The group also said it deployed drones targeting Israeli forces stationed near the strategic Beaufort Castle area.

The exchange of fire shows the fragile security situation despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a broader regional conflict.

Meanwhile, developments in the United States reflected growing concerns about the escalating tensions in the Middle East. The US House of Representatives approved a resolution seeking to limit President Donald Trump’s authority to initiate military action against Iran without prior approval from Congress. The measure passed by a narrow margin of 215 votes to 208.

In Gaza, violence continued overnight as Israeli air strikes struck a residential building in Gaza City. Palestinian health officials reported that at least nine people were killed in the attack, including four children.

According to reports, the incidents highlight the persistent instability across the region, where diplomatic initiatives continue to compete with ongoing military confrontations involving Israel, Hezbollah, Iran-linked groups, and Palestinian factions.

Observers warn that unless ceasefire commitments are fully implemented and respected, the risk of a wider regional escalation remains significant.
