Easybuy, Africa’s smartphone and electronics financing company, has partnered with WAWUAfrica to launch a large-scale empowerment initiative aimed at equipping 10 million Nigerian youths and women with job-ready skills.
The programme, which focuses on bridging Nigeria’s digital and economic inclusion gap, will provide training in areas such as digital and IT literacy, financial education, creative arts, entrepreneurship, and hospitality.
At a signing ceremony in Lagos, Easybuy was unveiled as the official device financing and lifestyle partner for the Federal Government-supported initiative, which is being implemented through the Office of the Vice President’s Presidential Committee on Economic and Financial Inclusion in collaboration with WAWUAfrica and other development partners.

The initiative also has backing from key institutions, including ministries and international development organisations, as well as professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, Easybuy Nigeria Sales Director, Abdul-gaffar Adesoji, said access to smartphones remains critical to participation in the modern economy, noting that many Nigerians are still excluded due to affordability challenges.
He explained that the partnership is designed to bridge that gap by providing device financing support while enabling access to skills development and economic opportunities.
According to him, Easybuy will also create up to 10,000 sales jobs for beneficiaries as part of its contribution to the programme.
WAWUAfrica CEO, Emmanuel Lennox, described the initiative as a shift from skills acquisition to skills deployment, adding that the model integrates training with real income opportunities through device access and employment pathways.

He said the programme is structured to ensure participants are not only trained but also empowered to generate income and build sustainable livelihoods.
Despite growing internet penetration, millions of Nigerians remain offline due to the high cost of smartphones, a challenge the partners say the initiative is designed to address through flexible financing and inclusive access models.
Easybuy, a pioneer in buy-now-pay-later device financing, and WAWUAfrica, a leadership and economic empowerment platform, say the collaboration represents a long-term effort to strengthen financial inclusion and expand digital participation across the country.
