U.S. President Donald Trump has said he is currently meeting in the White House Situation Room to make a final determination on a proposed agreement with Iran, according to a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

Trump said the discussions centre on a potential deal that would prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons while also addressing maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

“Iran must agree that they will never have a Nuclear Weapon or Bomb,” the president wrote.

He added that the Strait of Hormuz must remain open to unrestricted shipping in both directions, without tolls or disruption.

According to Trump, any naval mines in the waterway would be removed or “terminated,” while a naval blockade would also be lifted under the proposed arrangement.

“Ships caught in the Strait due to our amazing and unprecedented Naval Blockade, which will now be lifted, may start the process of ‘heading home!’” he wrote.

The U.S. president also said that enriched nuclear material reportedly buried deep underground would be “unearthed” in coordination with Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and subsequently destroyed.

The comments come amid ongoing high-level diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran over a possible ceasefire extension and a broader nuclear framework agreement.

Details of the proposed deal have not been independently confirmed by Iranian authorities, and no formal announcement has been made regarding a final agreement.

The White House has not issued an official statement on the reported Situation Room meeting at the time of filing this report.
