Barau FC ended the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with a 3-0 victory over Nasarawa United in their Matchday 38 encounter played at the Sani Abacha Stadium on Sunday.
The victory saw Barau FC finish their debut NPFL campaign with 52 points from 38 matches, securing an 8th-place finish on the league table.
The club recorded 13 wins, 13 draws, and 12 defeats during the season to successfully retain their top-flight status.

Speaking on the club’s performance, the General Manager, Dominic Iorfa, was credited for stabilising the team after a difficult first half of the season.
Barau FC had occupied 19th position on the table before Iorfa’s appointment in 2025 but improved significantly during the second stanza following the recruitment of new players.
The club also maintained regular payment of players’ bonuses and welfare entitlements throughout the campaign, a move widely seen as boosting morale within the squad.
The management further acknowledged the support of the club’s Grand Patron, Barau I. Jibrin, and Club President, Shawall Barau Jibrin, for their commitment to youth development and the growth of the club.

Barau FC will now turn its attention to the 2026 President’s Federation Cup, where they are scheduled to face Abakaliki FC in the Round of 32 on June 1.
