President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has acknowledged that many Nigerians are still grappling with economic hardship and security challenges across the country.

The President made the remarks on Sunday while formally accepting the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.

Recognising the prevailing economic situation, Tinubu admitted that rising prices and ongoing structural adjustments have continued to place pressure on households nationwide.

“However, there are still challenges ahead. Many Nigerians continue to face challenges with increasing prices and changes in the economy,” he said.

“We take these concerns seriously; we see them and lead not from a place of ease, but from a true understanding of the situation, with honesty and decisive action.”

The President also admitted that insecurity remains a significant concern in parts of the country despite ongoing military operations and interventions.

“I recognise that there are still security challenges facing some areas of our great country,” he stated.

Tinubu noted that his administration has increased investment in intelligence gathering, surveillance systems, and modern security equipment, while also addressing the root causes of insecurity.

“We have put money into intelligence, watching over things, and new tools, and we are working on the main reasons behind insecurity,” he said.

He further called on the National Assembly to approve the establishment of state police, describing it as a matter of national urgency.
