The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Saidu Audu, on Tuesday visited the Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) in Maiduguri, Borno State, to strengthen collaboration in ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the North-East.
The visit, according to military authorities, was aimed at deepening synergy between the MNJTF and the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, in the fight against insurgency and terrorism in the region.
During the visit, Major General Audu received operational briefings on the activities of OPHK and held strategic discussions with senior military officers on ways to improve joint operations.
Speaking during the engagement, the MNJTF Force Commander said the visit was intended to facilitate the exchange of ideas and strengthen operational cooperation between both formations.
He stressed that sustained collaboration remained critical to defeating terrorist groups and restricting their operational capacity across the region.
Audu described the MNJTF as a unique multinational security alliance involving troops from contributing countries working together to combat terrorism in the Lake Chad region.

He commended the Theatre Commander of OPHK, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, and troops under his command for what he described as significant operational successes in containing insurgency activities.
According to him, the efforts of Operation HADIN KAI have contributed greatly to restoring stability and reducing terrorist threats in the North-East.
In his remarks, the Theatre Commander of Operation HADIN KAI, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, described the visit as timely and strategic.
He said closer cooperation between OPHK and the MNJTF would improve operational effectiveness and strengthen regional security in the interest of member nations participating in the multinational force.
Abubakar reaffirmed OPHK’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the MNJTF in tackling terrorism and insurgency, while also ensuring the protection of lives and property in the region.

He added that improved security would enhance socio-economic activities within the Lake Chad area.
