The father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, Emmanuel Odiniya, has spoken out over the viral altercation involving his daughter, insisting that the incident was triggered by long-standing family tensions and alleged provocation.
In a voice note circulating online, Odiniya claimed the confrontation was not motivated by hatred but by frustration over what he described as a change in his daughter’s behaviour after her rise to fame.
He said he played a significant role in her victory during the Big Brother Naija All Stars edition, alleging that he mobilised support and influenced votes for her win.
According to him, their relationship deteriorated after she became a public figure, accusing her of disrespect and emotional distance.
Odiniya further alleged that the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation, during which both parties sustained injuries.
He claimed his daughter had previously assaulted him on multiple occasions and expressed concerns over her lifestyle choices, including cosmetic procedures and peer influence.
He also alleged that family disputes extended to financial disagreements and interference in household matters.
Despite the allegations, Odiniya maintained that he still loves his daughter and called for reconciliation, stating that the matter had already been addressed by law enforcement and medical personnel.
Authorities earlier confirmed that members of the family sustained injuries during the incident and received medical attention, while investigations are ongoing.
