ONE CONVICTED FOR IMPERSONATION IN KADUNA

The Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of one James Okori, also known as Anthony Hopkins, for impersonation.

Okori was on Thursday, April 30, 2026, convicted by Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court on a two-count charge bordering on impersonation-related offences.

According to the EFCC, the defendant was arrested following intelligence received by the Kaduna Zonal Directorate regarding suspicious activities of individuals allegedly involved in internet fraud in the Agwa area of Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Commission stated that investigations revealed Okori’s involvement in fraudulent online activities under a false identity, leading to his prosecution and subsequent conviction.
