The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to staff welfare with the official handover of three utility vehicles to staff unions under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).

The presentation, carried out on behalf of the government, included a hybrid compressed natural gas (CNG) staff bus, an 18-seater Hiace bus, and a fully equipped ambulance, all designated for use by staff unions within the office.

Representing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, the Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, said the intervention was part of ongoing efforts to improve staff welfare, ease transportation challenges, and enhance productivity in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He urged the unions to ensure proper and judicious use of the vehicles, stressing the importance of responsibility and accountability. “President Tinubu places the welfare of civil servants and Nigerians at the front burner.

A vibrant civil service requires efficient and motivated staff. To whom much is given, much is expected,” he stated.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of workers, the Chairman of the Joint Council of Unions (JCUs) in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Paul Idowu, expressed appreciation to the SGF for the gesture, describing it as a significant boost to staff morale and daily operations.

He assured that the vehicles would be properly managed and deployed for the collective benefit of staff members, while also pledging continued commitment to productivity and service delivery within the office.

According to him, the intervention is expected to further strengthen internal mobility, emergency response capacity, and general welfare support for staff within the OSGF.
