The mother of Oghenemine Ogidi, the 28-year-old musician popularly known as OG Millan, has alleged that she has lost two sons to Police brutality in separate incidents.

She recounted the tragic events, alleging that her children were fatally shot by police officers under circumstances she described as unjustified and deeply distressing.

Speaking amid visible grief, the mother insisted that her children were not involved in any criminal activity at the time of the incident. She called for a thorough investigation and demanded justice, saying the killings had devastated her family.

This is coming as fresh allegations continue to trail Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Nuhu Usman, who has just been dismissed and set for prosecution by the Nigeria Police Force.

According to her, the pain she is currently enduring is not new, insisting that Oghenemine was her second son to be killed in circumstances involving police officers.

“My two children were killed by the police,” she lamented. “They first took my son in 2022, and now they have taken another one from me again. How do I survive this?”

The incident has drawn reactions from community members and rights advocates, many of whom are calling for transparency and an independent probe into the circumstances of the shooting. Concerns have also been raised about the recurring allegations of excessive force by security operatives.

The latest development adds to growing scrutiny of policing practices in Nigeria, with civil society organisations continuing to push for reforms, accountability, and improved community relations.
