Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has called for strengthened collaboration among law enforcement agencies to enhance the effectiveness of their operations in combating corruption and financial crimes.

Olukoyede made the call during a working visit by senior officers of the Kaduna Zonal Directorate of the EFCC to key law enforcement agencies in Niger State.

The agencies visited include the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Department of State Services (DSS), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

Speaking through the Acting Director of the Kaduna Zonal Command, ACE I Ahmed M. Ghali, Olukoyede emphasised that collaboration among agencies is critical in addressing corruption and economic crimes.

He described inter-agency cooperation as indispensable, noting that no single agency can effectively achieve its mandate in isolation.

“This synergy is essential for effective intelligence sharing and joint operations in the course of carrying out our distinct mandates, which are geared towards improving the economy,” he said.

He added that sustained collaboration and coordinated efforts would help overcome operational challenges and build on existing successes.

Responding, heads of the various agencies commended the EFCC for its professionalism, resilience, and commitment to duty despite prevailing challenges.

They collectively agreed that corruption remains a common adversary and stressed the need for continued partnership and cooperation among agencies to effectively tackle the menace.
