Justice Kekere-Ekun will also deliver the keynote address at the conference themed, “The Role of the Judiciary in Deepening Democracy in Nigeria.”

The event will take place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Auditorium of the Federal Ministry of Justice, which is hosting the programme.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi, is billed to attend as a special guest.

Also scheduled to speak is the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Afam Osigwe, who will present a paper entitled, “NJC as Watchdog of the Judiciary.”

In a statement issued by NAJUC Secretary-General, Paschal Njoku, the conference is slated to begin at 10:00 a.m., with participants expected to be seated by 8:00 a.m.

Njoku said the event would feature presentations by eminent scholars and key stakeholders in the justice sector, focusing on critical issues affecting the judiciary.

He added that the annual programme is aimed at enhancing the capacity of judiciary correspondents and sharpening their reporting skills, noting that attendance is mandatory for members, who are also expected to provide coverage for their respective media organisations.

The Chairman of NAJUC, Kayode Lawal of Daily Post, will host the conference, which is expected to draw legal practitioners, judicial officers, and media professionals from across the country.
