Leaders and stakeholders of Ukanafun/Oruk-Anam Federal Constituency have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, and Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Bassey Eno for re-election ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing their leadership performance and contributions to governance.
The endorsement formed part of resolutions reached at a town hall meeting held at the Civic Centre in Ikot Akpan Eda on Sunday, where political leaders, elders, youths, women groups, professionals, and other interest groups gathered to deliberate on the political future and unity of the constituency. In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders commended President Tinubu for what they described as “unwavering efforts in stabilizing Nigeria’s economy,” noting that ongoing reforms and projects have rekindled hope among citizens.

They also praised Senate President Akpabio for providing “strategic leadership” that has stabilized the National Assembly, while Governor Eno was lauded for reshaping Akwa Ibom’s socio-economic landscape through his ARISE Agenda.
The meeting urged residents of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State, and particularly the Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District to support the re-election bids of the three leaders, expressing confidence in their ability to consolidate on existing gains. Stakeholders further reaffirmed their commitment to the long-standing rotational political arrangement between Ukanafun and Oruk-Anam blocs, describing it as a product of “collective wisdom” that has ensured fairness, inclusiveness, and political stability within the constituency
. According to the communiqué, the arrangement has helped to reduce tension, prevent dominance by any single bloc, thereby fostering unity and a shared sense of belonging among constituents. In a major political development, the forum unanimously endorsed Engr.
Aniekan Abraham, popularly known as Anisolo, as the preferred candidate from the Oruk-Anam bloc for the House of Representatives seat. The stakeholders cited his experience, accessibility, and understanding of legislative processes as key attributes that set him apart, expressing confidence that his representation would surpass previous performances.

They called on political actors and constituents across the federal constituency to rally behind his candidacy, emphasizing the need for unity and collective action in pursuit of sustainable development. The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment to equity, justice, and unity as the foundational principles for the continued progress of Ukanafun/Oruk-Anam Federal Constituency. The communiqué was jointly endorsed by representatives of the various stakeholder groups in attendance.
