He described her as a devoted caregiver whose contributions to nurturing and saving lives would remain enduring.
The Governor also extended heartfelt condolences to her husband, Dr. Chris Udofia, a former Chairman of Uyo Local Government Area, and the entire family.
In his remarks, former Governor Udom Emmanuel reflected on the indispensable role of women in the family and society. Using relatable illustrations, he emphasized the deep emotional and foundational role mothers play, noting that their loss creates a significant void regardless of age.
“We pray that Almighty God grants the family the grace to uphold the exemplary life she lived, and may her soul rest in eternal peace,” he said.
Mr. Emmanuel also commended the various groups within the Catholic Church for their societal contributions and called for sustained prayers and collaboration with leadership for the good of society.
Delivering the homily, Very Rev. Fr. Dr. Donatus Udoette drew from John 14:1–6, urging the congregation to live purposefully and remain prepared for eternal life.
