The Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) has dismissed as false and misleading reports circulating across some television stations and social media platforms regarding the recent foiled terrorist attack on troops’ location in Benisheikh.

In a statement, OPHK expressed concern over what it described as highly exaggerated narratives, often accompanied by unrelated images and videos, aimed at distorting facts, undermining military operations, and eroding public confidence.

The command categorically refuted claims that 17 soldiers, including a Brigade Commander, were killed during the incident. It clarified that the official report, as earlier released by Defence Headquarters, confirmed that two officers and two soldiers lost their lives during the engagement.

“Any contrary figures being circulated are entirely false, misleading, and devoid of credibility,” the statement emphasized.

OPHK also dismissed insinuations that the Brigade Commander’s vehicle was unserviceable, explaining that the Commander was operating in a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle, which was only temporarily immobilized during the intensity of the combat while he coordinated the counter-assault.

According to the command, this reflected the gravity of the engagement and demonstrated leadership presence at a critical point, rather than any equipment failure.

The statement further noted that images and videos being circulated in connection with the incident are unrelated to the Benisheikh attack and are being deliberately misrepresented to reinforce false narratives. The public was urged to disregard such content.

The military condemned the distortion of operational facts and warned against exploiting security incidents for personal, political, or propaganda purposes, noting that such actions diminish the sacrifices and professionalism of personnel engaged in defending the nation.

OPHK reiterated that troops successfully repelled the attack, retained control of their position, and forced the attackers into a disorganised retreat.

It described the failed assault as evidence of sustained pressure on terrorist elements and the increasing combat effectiveness of troops in the theatre of operations.
