Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has expressed satisfaction with the early results of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy, revealing that the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) has risen from N2 billion to N7 billion monthly within a short period of its implementation.

The TSA policy, which took effect on January 1, 2026, requires all Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to remit revenues into a unified government account to enhance transparency, accountability, and efficiency in public finance management.

Speaking during the Government House Monthly Prayer Service held at the Latter House Chapel in Uyo on Saturday, Governor Eno described the development as encouraging and a step towards financial independence for the state.

“We want to make our state self-sustaining and sufficient. In the next few years, we should be able to raise our internally generated revenue to a point where it can at least pay our salaries,” he said.

“Since the introduction of the Treasury Single Account, it is heartwarming that our IGR has grown from N2 billion to N7 billion monthly,” the governor added.

He urged all MDAs and financial stakeholders to strictly comply with the TSA framework to sustain the growth, warning that any attempt to undermine the policy would attract sanctions.

Governor Eno also reiterated that his administration’s development efforts are guided by the ARISE Agenda, his economic blueprint anchored on the needs assessment of citizens across the state.

According to him, the blueprint remains a deliberate and strategic framework for addressing key development priorities, noting that his government is methodically implementing projects to ensure sustainable transformation.

“Development is not automatic. We are taking deliberate steps, executing projects and programmes one after the other to achieve the mandate given to us by the people,” he said.

On the political climate, the governor called for restraint among stakeholders, urging residents to avoid actions that could destabilise the state as political activities intensify.

“There will be no compensation for unnecessary political wastage,” he cautioned, while appealing for continued support for peace, unity, and development.

Delivering a sermon titled “El-Shaddai – the God Almighty,” the founder of Firstlove Assembly, Port Harcourt, Rev. Simeon Afolabi, emphasised that true knowledge of God comes through revelation, not formal education.

He encouraged Christians to trust in God’s power, describing Him as all-sufficient and capable of strengthening believers in all circumstances.
