Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi has dismissed reports suggesting that the country’s new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, was injured during recent military tensions, saying there is “no problem” with the leader’s condition.
Araqchi made the remarks during an interview in response to comments from US Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth, who had claimed that Khamenei was wounded, possibly disfigured.
The Iranian government rejected the assertion, describing it as inaccurate and reaffirming that the supreme leader remains in good condition.
Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late former leader Ali Khamenei, was recently named as Iran’s new supreme leader following major political developments in the country.
The remarks come amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where ongoing military confrontations have intensified between Iran and its regional adversaries. Iranian officials have repeatedly denied claims circulating in foreign media about injuries to the country’s leadership.
