Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has called on women across the state, particularly in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, to take full advantage of the government’s cooperative initiative aimed at promoting personal development and economic empowerment.

The Governor made the remarks on Saturday at the grand finale of the women sensitization tour on civic responsibilities, held at the Local Government Headquarters in Nsit Ubium.

He disclosed that the State government will inject N20 million into cooperative societies in each of the state’s 369 wards, urging women to actively participate and explore viable business opportunities.

Governor Eno also announced the formation of a special committee to work with the Special Adviser on the Bureau for Cooperative, Mrs. Alice Ekpenyong, to ensure proper coordination and optimization of the initiative.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Governor Senator Akon Eyakenyi and other women leaders commended the Governor’s women-focused policies. They encouraged women to register and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards ahead of the 2027 elections.

Governor Eno thanked the women for their active participation, support for the ARISE Agenda, and commitment to his re-election campaign.
