The Commander Corps of Signals (CCS), Major General Tanimu Abdullahi has assured the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Babalola, of his unwavering partnership and collaboration in enhancing operational effectiveness. The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by the GOC to the Headquarters Nigerian Army Signals at Murtala Mohammed House, Arakan Cantonment, Lagos, on March 4, 2026.
In his remarks, Major General Abdullahi thanked the GOC for the visit, describing him as a seasoned and highly experienced senior officer whose professional competence is never in doubt. He congratulated Major General Babalola on his well-deserved appointment and assured him of strengthened synergy between the Corps of Signals and 81 Division in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s Command Philosophy.
Earlier, Major General Babalola expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him. He noted that he was particularly honoured to be hosted by the CCS, whom he described as a mentor since their days at the Nigerian Defence Academy. He stated that the visit was officially to pay homage following his assumption of command of 81 Division and formed part of his familiarisation tour of formations and units within his Area of Responsibility.
The GOC further affirmed that his office remains open to collaboration and partnership, adding that he would continue to seek guidance where necessary in the discharge of his duties. The visit underscored the strong professional bond and commitment to enhanced cooperation between 81 Division and the Nigerian Army Signals.
The highpoint of the visit was the signing of the visitors’ book, exchange of plaques and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
