Israeli strikes on Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley have killed a 16-year-old Syrian boy, injured 29 others, marking the latest violation of the November 2024 ceasefire. The victim, identified as Hussein Mohsen al-Khalaf, was killed in Kfar Dan near Baalbek, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health and local news reports.

At least 13 airstrikes were reported in the area, hitting Shmestar, Boudai, Harbata, and the Hermel and Nabi Chit mountains. Several shops in the Baalbek Souk, Tallet al-Ajami, were also damaged.

The Israeli military said it targeted eight Hezbollah camps belonging to the Radwan Force, claiming they stored weapons and conducted training “as part of preparations for emergency situations and to plan and execute terrorist plots.” Israel described the strikes as responses to violations of agreements with Lebanon.

Despite the ceasefire, Israel has continued military operations in Lebanon, with UN reports recording over 300 deaths, including 127 civilians, since November 2024. Lebanon filed a complaint with the UN Security Council, citing 2,036 Israeli violations between October and December 2025.

The Lebanese government says it is nearing completion of its ceasefire obligations to disarm Hezbollah south of the Litani River, but Hezbollah disputes that the disarmament applies beyond that area.
