The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has cautioned youths across the country to steer clear of social vices and corrupt practices, urging them to position themselves as responsible future leaders of the nation.

Olukoyede gave the charge on Friday, February 20, 2026, when a delegation of the Youth Anti-Corruption Society paid a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate of the Commission.

Represented by the Acting Director of the Port Harcourt Zonal Directorate, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE I) Hassan Saidu, the EFCC boss advised the youths to always choose the path of integrity, stressing that the long-term consequences of corruption far outweigh any temporary gains derived from social vices.

He urged them to serve as ambassadors and foot soldiers in the fight against corruption, internet fraud, and other financial crimes.

“The nation is relying on you to drive positive change through attitudinal reorientation. That is why the Commission is making deliberate efforts to engage young people, as you are the leaders of tomorrow,” he said.

Olukoyede further emphasized the need for collective responsibility in building a better society.

“To make society better for all of us, we must block the leakages in our system. The youths are the movers of the nation. The government and the Commission are doing their best to develop the country and empower young people for the overall good of society,” he added.

Earlier, leader of the delegation, Comrade Sampson Abibo, thanked the Commission for the warm reception and the opportunity to interact with its leadership. He said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the EFCC in the ongoing fight against corruption.

Abibo noted that the Youth Anti-Corruption Society has partnered with the Commission in Rivers State for the past five years and recently launched the “Student Anti-Corruption Initiative of Nigeria,” a campaign targeted at combating social vices, drug abuse, and theft in primary and secondary schools.

He expressed the organization’s readiness to deepen collaboration with the EFCC to tackle internet fraud, cyberbullying, hacking, and other social ills affecting the nation.
