The Embassy of India in Tehran has advised Indian nationals residing in Iran to leave the country using all available means of transport, including commercial flights, due to the evolving situation of protests and demonstrations.
According to a report by the Economic Times on Monday, the advisory applies to Indian students, pilgrims, businesspersons, and tourists currently in Iran, urging them to depart at the earliest opportunity.
The latest notice follows earlier advisories issued on January 5 and January 14, in which the embassy had already called for caution.
The mission advised Indian citizens and Persons of Indian Origin to avoid areas experiencing protests and demonstrations, remain vigilant, stay in close contact with the embassy for regular updates.
Nationals were also urged to closely monitor local media and ongoing developments.
The embassy further instructed all Indians in Iran to keep their travel and immigration documents, including passports and identification papers, readily accessible at all times.
In addition, Indian nationals who have not yet registered with the embassy have been asked to do so through an online form available on its official website. In the event of internet disruptions in Iran, families in India have been requested to complete the registration process on their behalf.
The advisory comes amid heightened security concerns, with Indian authorities reiterating the need for citizens to prioritize their safety.
