President Bola Tinubu has described the Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival as clear evidence of restored stability and normalcy in Kebbi State, across Nigeria.

Speaking at the grand finale of the 61st edition of the festival in Argungu, Kebbi State, the President pledged sustained Federal Government support for agriculture, tourism, food security, and rural development.

President Tinubu commended the Kebbi State Government for successfully hosting the historic event, which attracted over fifty thousand fishermen and cultural enthusiasts from Nigeria and neighbouring countries.

He said the festival, which has endured for over eight decades, remains a strong symbol of unity, peaceful coexistence, and cultural pride.

The President also praised security agencies for creating a safe environment that enabled the successful hosting of the event, noting that improved security is the result of deliberate investments in intelligence gathering and coordinated operations.

President Tinubu assured Nigerians that his administration remains committed towards defeating insecurity, ensuring that farmers, fishermen, rural communities carry out their livelihoods without fear.

He reaffirmed Federal Government support for farmers through collaboration with state governments, particularly in Kebbi State, which he described as critical to Nigeria’s food security drive.

The President noted that cultural festivals like Argungu not only preserve heritage but also promote tourism, economic growth, and national unity.
