US Congressman, Moore has shared that during his recent visit to Nigeria, he held multiple high-level meetings with government officials, church leaders, aid organizations, and internally displaced persons (IDPs) to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges facing Christians in the country.
In his discussions, Moore noted that the idea of dividing Nigeria has not been raised seriously. He warned that efforts to encourage separatism could endanger Christians, particularly in the North and Middle Belt, and could further destabilize the nation, giving space to terrorists.
“A destabilized Nigeria would embolden terrorists, make Christians less safe in Nigeria and across the continent,” he said.
The Congressman emphasized his commitment towards protecting the lives of all Nigerians affected by insecurity and terrorism. He also highlighted the recent US–Nigeria security cooperation agreement as a significant step towards tackling violence and strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
