2027: MKPAT ENIN APC STAKEHOLDERS ENDORSE TINUBU, UMO ENO

Political stakeholders in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State have endorsed the re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Ekong Sampson, member representing Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh and that of Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uwem Imoh-Ita, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was made on Monday during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Executive Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government, Engr. Emmanuel Inyang, at the Mkpat Enin Unity Hall, the council headquarters.

Addressing participants at the meeting, Engr. Inyang said the endorsement aligned with the direction of the APC leadership in the State and reflected the desire of the people for continuity in governance and development.

He noted that the people of Mkpat Enin, being “in-laws” to Governor Umo Eno, were committed to supporting his administration and ensuring the continuity of ongoing projects and programmes.

According to him, the re-election of President Tinubu and Governor Eno would provide the opportunity for more developmental projects and sustained delivery of democratic dividends, while returning lawmakers would strengthen effective representation through their ranking status in parliament.

Also speaking, State Party Officer of the All Progressives Congress, APC and immediate past Chapter Chairman of the party, Hon. Utitofon Jeremiah, urged all interest groups and potential aspirants to close ranks and align with the position of the party leadership, describing it as a test of loyalty and commitment to the party.

The member representing Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uwem Imoh-Ita, who was represented by former Chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Transition Committee, Sir Ubong Ekefre, appreciated stakeholders for their support and reaffirmed commitment to quality representation.

Stakeholders from the various clans in the area also spoke in support of the endorsement. They included former Councillor Hon. Innocent Tom for Ikpa Ibom Clan; Elder Udo Sam Umoatan, former Council Chairman, for Ukpum Minya Clan; Mrs. Idara Ephraim Akpan, Eket Senatorial District APC Women Coordinator, for Ibiaku Clan; Hon. Anieokpon Ekpo, former Council Chairman, for Ikpa Ikono Clan; Lady Ekaette Usip for women; and Comrade Idongesit Umoetuk, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Mkpat Enin Chapter, for the youths.

The meeting was attended by the Chairmen of Eastern Obolo and Ikot Abasi Local Government Areas, Rt. Hon. Samuel Nteogwuijah and Hon. Ime Williamson Essien respectively.

Speaking at the event, the member representing Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh, highlighted projects executed across all clans in Mkpat Enin, including cash empowerment programmes, recruitment into the civil service and human capacity development initiatives.

He thanked the people of Mkpat Enin for the confidence reposed in him and other APC candidates.

Also addressing stakeholders, the Senator representing Eket Senatorial District, Senator Ekong Sampson, assured the people of his continued commitment to protecting the interests of all four clans in Mkpat Enin and promoting justice, fairness and development across the senatorial district.
