The Forum of Chief Executive Officers of Federal Parastatals has pledged to mobilise 10 million votes for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in the 2027 general election.
The forum also appointed the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, as its Grand Patron during a visit by its delegation to his office in Abuja.
The forum’s Convener and Chairman, Dr Kazeem Kolawole Raji, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of the National Board for Technology Incubation, said the group intended to pursue its 10-million-vote target through what he described as lawful, ethical, peaceful and issue-based grassroots engagement.
According to Raji, the forum plans to leverage the professional and community networks associated with federal agencies across the country to engage Nigerians.
He said one of the group’s objectives was to bridge the communication gap between government policies and the public by documenting and communicating the Tinubu administration’s reforms, programmes and achievements.
Raji said Akume’s appointment as Grand Patron was in recognition of his leadership and role in coordinating the machinery of the Federal Government.
Responding on behalf of Akume, the Permanent Secretary, Political and Economic Affairs Office, Bekearedebo Augusta Warrens, thanked the forum for the appointment.
Akume also urged the CEOs to strengthen communication about the administration’s policies at the grassroots and address what he described as disinformation surrounding the government’s economic reforms.
The SGF said the structures and networks available to members of the forum could support their stated target of mobilising 10 million votes for Tinubu.
He further assured the forum of institutional support from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and called for a structured framework for continued collaboration.
The Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office, Dr Chidiebere John Ezeamama, also proposed the establishment of a centralised digital platform to facilitate information sharing and coordinate activities involving federal agencies.
The forum said it has more than 400 CEOs and senior officials drawn from federal agencies and parastatals, with networks extending across the country.
Its pledge represents a stated political mobilisation target by the forum ahead of the 2027 election and not a projection of the eventual number of votes Tinubu will receive.
