Accreditation for the Osun State governorship election has yet to commence as of 8:27 a.m. at Ward 5, Unit 12, Falaju Street, Ile-Ife, following a dispute over access to the polling venue.
The compound where voting normally takes place was reportedly locked, leaving early-arriving voters stranded and triggering arguments at the polling unit.

The Presiding Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Abura Oghenerume, told journalists that officials arrived at the polling unit around 8:00 a.m. but were unable to begin the accreditation process because the facility remained locked.
She explained that the individuals in possession of the key had yet to open the premises.
Oghenerume said efforts were ongoing to gain access to the compound and commence the accreditation and voting process.
The delay left voters waiting at the unit as residents across Osun State began casting their ballots in the governorship election.
