The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has resolved a leadership dispute within its Kano State chapter, reaffirming Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga as the party’s state chairman.
The resolution followed a high-level meeting convened by the party’s national leadership under Senator Seriake Henry Dickson, with key stakeholders in attendance, including former Kano State Governor and Kwankwasiyya Movement leader, Engr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and North-West Vice Chairman, Engr. Muhammad Sabo Bakin Zuwo.
The disagreement, which emerged after recent political realignments in the state chapter, was amicably settled, with party leaders emphasising unity and stability ahead of upcoming political activities.
In a communiqué issued after the meeting, the party confirmed that Mai Riga would continue in his role as chairman, describing the decision as a consensus reached in the interest of cohesion.

Reacting to the development, Mai Riga expressed appreciation to the national leadership and stakeholders for their intervention, noting that the resolution reflects the maturity and strength of the party.
He also extended an apology to anyone he may have offended during the period of the disagreement, calling for continued support and unity among members.

The NDC leadership said the resolution underscores its commitment to internal democracy and conflict resolution as the party positions itself for future elections.
