The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says 1,906,390 Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, have been collected by registered voters ahead of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.

The figure represents 81.50 per cent of the state’s 2,339,233 registered voters.

In a statement signed by the National Commissioner and Chairman of the Commission’s Information and Voter Education Committee, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, INEC said the remaining 432,843 PVCs, representing 18.50 per cent, had been deposited with the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

The Commission also disclosed that 6,101 persons who applied for replacement of damaged, defaced or lost PVCs printed downloadable copies of their voter cards.

INEC said a polling-unit-by-polling-unit breakdown of the collected PVCs had been published on its official website.

The Commission assured political parties, civil society organisations, the media and voters of its readiness to conduct a free, fair, credible, transparent and inclusive election on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
