The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has arrested a man, Nuhu Dahiru, for allegedly impersonating an EFCC operative and defrauding members of the public of N3 million.
Dahiru was arrested by operatives of the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate in Tashan Bama, along Bama Road, Maiduguri, Borno State, following credible intelligence on his alleged activities.
The EFCC said the suspect had been parading himself as an officer of the Commission and using the false identity to obtain money from unsuspecting members of the public.
A total of N3 million was recovered from him at the point of arrest.
The Commission said the suspect would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
