The assault, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, began at approximately 3:00 a.m., according to local sources. During the confrontation, the attackers allegedly deployed explosives against a military camp, inflicting significant damage. Preliminary reports suggest that casualties were recorded among the security personnel, though the exact number remains unconfirmed.
“They killed some of our soldiers, but we cannot yet confirm the full extent of the attack until daybreak,” the source added.
In addition to the loss of lives, the assailants reportedly carted away military patrol vehicles and motorcycles before retreating further into the surrounding areas.
