A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Samuel Alexander Ukut, has formally resigned from the party, citing a divergence between his personal principles and the party’s current direction.
In a resignation letter addressed to the APC Ward 7 Chairman in Ikot Ekpene, Ukut said his decision followed “careful consideration” and takes immediate effect.
He noted that while he valued the opportunity to serve within the party and collaborate with its members, he could no longer continue due to what he described as a misalignment with his values and vision for the future.
“I have come to the decision that it is no longer in alignment with my personal principles to remain with the party,” the letter read.
Ukut expressed appreciation for the trust and support he received during his time in the APC, emphasising that his departure does not diminish his commitment to public service. He pledged to continue contributing to the development of his community despite stepping away from the ruling party.
Copies of the resignation letter were also sent to the APC State Chairman in Akwa Ibom State and the Ikot Ekpene Chapter leadership, indicating that party officials at multiple levels have been formally notified.
